The 2 hour horse ride is suitable for both novices and experienced riders.

 
We start with a full safety briefing where we teach you a bit of horsemanship and how to keep yourself and your horse calm through breathwork. 

• Safety helmets are obligatory and are provided. 

• Nervous riders can choose to go on a lead. 

When everyone is comfortable, we set off on our trail along the river and into the vineyards. We get spectacular views of Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Cape of good hope, cape winelands and local wine farms. 

Your safety (and our horses’) is our main priority, but if you can safely trot and canter, you will have a opportunity to do so. (You must be able to rise the trot, otherwise your guide will keep the ride at a walk to keep you and the horses safe).

 

Your guide’s decision is final, and please remember they are always acting in the best interest of the horses.

We have a little break halfway where guests can stretch their legs, drink some water and relax with the horses. 

​

Along the trail we are likely to see local wildlife, including birds of prey, like Fish Eagles, Buzzards and Kites.
